WHAT'S NEW

Our winter has been busy.  Zane, Tyler and Jonathan have taken on the task of doing a fuel haul for a uranium company .  This involves unloading an aircraft , load the sleigh, deliver and unload in containment area.  Doesn't sound hard.  The temperatures in Feb.  were -40 celsius and had been -51 celsius (-60 farenheit) puts a different spin on things . click here for photos

-2007 ended and 2008 started with a bang.  While working in the oil field our snowcat went down in the Muskeg.  Zane and Tyler now have the task of retrieving it. click here for photos

 WHATS NEW IN 2007

We are very excited that Zane's son Tyler and his wife Kara have decided to join the Pierceland Outfitter Team.  Tyler joined us just in time to guide during the 2007 Bear Season.  Our 2008 Bear Season will have Zane managing the Dufferin Fly-In Camp and Tyler managing the Muskeg Camp.

Our Spring Bear Season was awesome!  Some great bears were taken weighing from 200 to 400+ lbs and squaring 5 to 7 feet.  Jim Benton took a uniquely colored bear with it's legs being red and fading into brown.  Be sure to check out the photos in our bear gallery.  We would like to thank our guides and staff for a job well done.  Also a thank you to our hunters for choosing us as Your Outfitter.

We chose not to hunt Dufferin Lake Fly-In camp this spring as we were booked solid at our Muskeg Bear Camp.  However, we did have some fishermen who enjoyed some awesome fishing!  Our building at Dufferin is now complete, with 3 full bathrooms.  Be sure to check out our accommodation slide show.  As the area was not hunted this spring we are expecting some great hunting.  We have added extra baits in some brand new areas and also have a new lake for more awesome fishing.  At our clients request we have changed the format of our bear / fishing trips starting 2008.  The trip will be 10 days with 6 hunters per trip.  This will allow for more time to relax and enjoy the fishing experience.  We are now booking Dufferin, starting earlier for best results, May 22 - June 1, 2008 and June 1 - June 10, 2008.

Book early to avoid disappointment!

Have a safe and great Summer!

Zane, Myrna, Tyler and Kara

March 6, 2006 - Greg Spencer, Richard Jack  and Gordon McKay embark on a 5 day journey to haul building supplies to Bolton Lake.
May 6, 2006 - Jim Hanson piloted the Caravan and took in 6,   200 lb. loads of building material, plus Zane   piloted his Cessna 185 and took in an additional 2 loads of supplies for the 16x32 addition to Dufferin lodge.  A total of over 1000 air miles.  The planes were loaded with the assistance of Don Peters, George Hueser and Jack Dery.
Don Peters and George Hueser began the renovation at Dufferin lodge.  The Turnor Lake crew of Al Desjardin, Ron Desjardin and Doug Nobiss also lended their carpentry skills.
The summer of 2006 was all about construction at Dufferin Lake.  While cabin renovations were taking place Zane and Gord Reeves were building a new north dock.  They also took alittle time out to scout a couple new bear baits at Springsteen Lake and catch some walleye and northerns.

No sooner was Don Peters finished at Dufferin Lake, Zane was already flying him and his new crew of Dave Mykytuk, and Johnathan Pollock to begin renovations on the moose outpost camp.
Renovations on both  camps will continue into the fall.
